As an annual higher education students' holiday in Poland, Juwenalia is an event worth visiting because of many different reasons. On the 18th of May, students are taking over the keys of the City of Torun. Juwenalia is usually celebrated in May before the summer exams, to collect the energy before studying hard. During these days you can participate in some sport activities, listen to the concerts, join the parade and make grill on the campus. Most important of all, dress up, have fun and enjoy free days before summer examination session.
Every year Juwenalia, organised by Nicolaus Copernicus University Student’s Union, has different topic. Last year topic was Stone Age – Juranalia (more about how was last year during Juwenalia you can readi in blog post of our blogger Velichka -studyintorun.pl/) This years topic is Circus which means that you can expect a lot of clowns, acrobats, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, dancers, hoopers, jugglers, magicians, unicyclists. If you see them, join them because for sure they are going to Bielany Campus.
Today I feel like a ringmaster, introducing you the various acts in a circus show and guiding you through the experience of the circus arena, helping you to link the events of Juwenalia.
As always this year program will start at 17.30 with group photo under my statue.
(Check the photos in the galery to see how I dressed up for this year Juwenalia)
Right after that, you can join a colourful circus parade through the city which will end up at Bielany Campus.
On Bielany Campus next to Collegium Humanisticum ( ul. Władysława Bojarskiego 1 ) you can listen to the concerts of different artists and join the parties in Club Od Nowa.
For more information, check Facebook page of Circus Juwenalia. https://www.facebook.com/juwenalia.umk.torun/
Every day concerts will start around 19.00.
Good news is that during Juwenalia transport is free for all the students with a valid Student ID Card.
Enjoy these days of Circus but be responsible for your actions.
