From 18 to 20 November 2019, the NCU Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management was visited by the researchers from the National Central University in Taiwan. The meeting was organized by the Polar Research Centre to discuss cooperation in the field of polar research based on the NCU Polar Station on Spitsbergen.
The participants of the meeting were: Dean Shu-Kun Hsu, Chien-Chih Chen, Ming-Cheng Yen, Slavomir Jack Giletycz, Ming-Hsu Li, Jia-Jyun Dong, Chuen-Fa Ni, Chian-Yi Liu from Vietnam, and dr habil. Marek Kejna, NCU Prof., dr habil. Ireneusz Sobota, NCU Prof. and dr habil. Piotr Hulisz, NCU Prof., mgr Sylwia Pindral, dr engineer and Dr. Edyta Kalińska. The meeting was also attended by Lika Liu from the Taipei Representative Office in Poland and Mr. Maciej Gaca, former Polish Ambassador to Taiwan. The guests were officially welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Education Prof. dr. habil. Beata Przyborowska.
During the two-day scientific seminar, a number of interesting presentations from ongoing research in various areas of Earth sciences, with particular emphasis on the Arctic region, were presented. Discussions also focused on cooperation in the field of student and academic exchange.
